Hbt in Relativisitic Heavy Ion Collisions
snn = 17GeV a sudden increase in the pion source volume is observed for central PbPb collisions. This seems to imply that the pion phase density has reached a limit. The source size of different particles decreases with mass when the transverse velocity is held constant but increases with mass when mT is held constant. The antiproton source radius is larger than the proton source radius. So far...
متن کاملJa n 20 06 Transverse - longitudinal HBT correlations in pp̄ collisions at √ s = 630 GeV
Correlations of like-sign pion pairs emerging from proton-antiproton collisions are analysed in the two-dimensional (q L , q T) decomposition of the three-momentum difference q. While the data cannot be adequately represented by gaussian, exponential , power-law or Edgeworth parametrisations, more elaborate ones such as Lévy and an exponential with a cross term do better. A two-scale model usin...
متن کاملAnalysis of identified particle yields and Bose - Einstein ( HBT ) correlations in p + p collisions at RHIC
Simultaneous Buda-Lund hydro model fits are presented to identified particle spectra and two-particle Bose-Einstein correlations as measured by the STAR collaboration in √ s = 200 GeV p+p collisions at RHIC. Preliminary results are compared to similar results in Au+Au collisions at RHIC, hadron+p reactions as well as Pb+Pb collisions at CERN SPS.
متن کاملRapidity and kT dependence of HBT correlations in Au+Au collisions at 200 GeV with PHOBOS
Two-particle correlations of identical charged pion pairs from Au+Au collisions at √ s NN = 200 GeV were measured by the PHOBOS experiment at RHIC. Data for the most central (0–15%) events were analyzed with Bertsch-Pratt (BP) and Yano-Koonin-Podgoretskii (YKP) parameterizations using pairs with rapidities of 0.4 < y < 1.3 and transverse momenta 0.1 < kT < 1.4 GeV/c. The Bertsch-Pratt radii dec...
متن کاملEffects of HBT correlations on flow measurements
The methods currently used to measure collective flow in nucleus–nucleus collisions assume that the only azimuthal correlations between particles are those arising from their correlation with the reaction plane. However, quantum HBT correlations also produce short range azimuthal correlations between identical particles. This creates apparent azimuthal anisotropies of a few percent when pions a...
